ASSESSMENT

The first activity in which the participant is involved is that of assessment. Upon entry into the PROGRAM, the CLIENT is given:

We anticipate that in the majority of cases, an emphasis on rehabilitation of the whole person will be pursued with nutritional therapy for the physical aspects of substance abuse prevention and self-esteem development tied to language skill development will be of primary concern.  Each client will operate under a specific contractual prescription developed with their program counselor - probation officer that leads to job/business development or placement into a program that leads to a viable law abiding career for the client.  This contract is an important two-way link between the client his/her program counselor - probation officer and the Human Development Support Services Team.
 

NUTRITIONAL THERAPY

Data Spectrum, Incorporated (DSI) provides a nutritional support program for clients consisting of nutritional counseling, vitamins and natural juices as dietary supplements aimed at client substance abuse prevention.  The vitamin supplementation program is geared to prevent substance abuse by clients through providing a nutritional basis for the client having a physical sense of being well (i.e. "a natural high").

LANGUAGE SKILL/SELF-ESTEEM

JOB READINESS TRAINING

The program provides language skills instruction personalized by absolute criterion referenced assessment and integrated with self-esteem (i.e. Positive Image Education) and job-readiness training. The personalized instruction materials are neither too easy or difficult for each client-student in the program.

JOB/BUSINESS PLACEMENT

Employment readiness training and job placement is structured within our educational services component.  "Outplacement" for clients is considered to be accomplished when a client has completed an employment training program; or has been placed in a job and/or business; or an advanced technical training program, leading to employment. A DSI provided employment or employment readiness training program will be proposed for clients where appropriate. We will use The-Job-Market Job Match Automated System Program from DSI The-Job-Market Division as the vehicle for job and/or business development under this contract.

COUNSELING

DSI AND CROP - Action Team Members provide social workers and pastoral counselors for personal and family counseling to help develop positive personal and family life coping skills for clients. DSI and CROP - Action Team Members are the owners of the materials used in operating the service programs. Parent and Life Skills classes and in Home Parent Education are conducted by DSI AND CROP -  Action Team Members professionals.
